Roger W Smith, PhD

Roger Smith is a senior consultant with Aligned Leadership Group and serves as Chief Learning Officer for Facilitated Leadership, LLC. Roger provides services in emotional intelligence, organizational development, physician leadership development, generational issues in the workplace, change management, executive coaching, team dynamics and assessment technologies. Roger uses an innovative and collaborative approach to build on successes already anchored in the culture while moving it toward the desired state. He uses behavioral assessments to diagnose and recommend data driven outcomes. His facilitation style is interactive, using stories, humor and social science literature to create a comfortable and educational learning environment.

Roger’s most recent consulting experience includes developing and launching a multi-year leadership initiative for a major medical center, designing a comprehensive leadership assessment and development program for medical directors, delivering a keynote address for 900 hospital executives, and delivering team assessments and development for a leading architectural and design firm.

Prior to founding Facilitated Leadership, Roger led the Field Leadership and Organizational Development Center of Excellence for Hospital Corporation of America, a Fortune 50 company that owns and operates 168 acute care hospitals along with surgery centers, physician practices, urgent care and free standing emergency departments. There he conceptualized, designed, developed, and launched the Physician Leadership Academy, a year-long program for Chief Medical Officers that led to statistically significant improvements in business acumen, executive presence, sense of urgency and leadership skills.

Roger’s clients have included Methodist Hospital Partnership, Hospital Corporation of America, Blake Medical Center, HCA West Florida Division, Reebok, State of Colorado, Oracle, Berkshire Hathaway, and RE/MAX.

Roger is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, Association for Talent Development, and holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources from the HR Certification Institute.

Roger enjoys mountain biking, skiing, yoga and hanging out in coffee shops. Roger resides in Lone Tree, CO with his wife and daughter.
